Children on the spectrum can face many challenges in achieving a healthy mouth and teeth. This can include difficulties in having a varied and healthy diet, finding a toothpaste they accept, helping them to clean their teeth, and actually getting them to the dentist. All of these factors can mean children with ASD are at a higher risk of having dental decay.
This workshop will provide you with some practical tips to help you overcome some of these difficulties. We will also discuss how your dental visits can be conducted in a way that is non-threatening and much more pleasant that you may have experienced previously. We will have some time to discuss with you individually some challenges you and your child may face after the presentation.
Drs Sarah and Tim are specialists paediatric dentists. They have both had several years of extensive training and experience in dealing with children on the spectrum. They are passionate about helping parents to achieve a healthy mouth for their child and to help their children to enjoy their dental visits.
